Wembley Stadium’s arch will be having the night off, while Wembley Fireworks takes its place to light up the sky this evening.
Brent Fireworks Day used to be held in Roundwood Park but Brent Council have confirmed that due to government cuts it will be moving to Wembley Park.
The Brent Council website, announced:
Join us at and around Arena Square, Wembley Park for fireworks that promise to be an exciting fun family event with vibrant street entertainment from a number of performers, great street food to tickle your taste buds and an exciting fireworks display set to a top-secret soundtrack at approximately 6.30pm in the evening.
Moving the fireworks to Wembley Park has left some residents in the dark.
@NW10KTRA @RiseGuide @KensalRiseRA @Riksmithuk Does anybody know the reason why Roundwood park fireworks is being moved to Wembley Park???

Please does anyone know why the Brent #fireworks display wasn't in roundwood park this way? Who changes tradition without notification?

History and tradition rewritten in Brent, Fireworks day now on November 6th
Not in Roundwood and not on the Saturday night (which is the actual 5th November anyway!) https://t.co/xYFybjDLwC Why @Brent_Council why? 🙁

But why the 6th? Nov 5th IS Fireworks Day— Kensal Triangle (@NW10KTRA) September 27, 2016
@NW10KTRA @CllrButt @flace1 @RiseGuide @KensalRiseRA @Riksmithuk there’s a rugby match on 5th – so remember remember the 6th of November

Are local authorities dazzled by property developer wealth?
@flace1 @Riksmithuk @NW10KTRA @RiseGuide @KensalRiseRA because Butt wants to please the LDO and Quintain. I bet they’re paying.
— Alison Hopkins (@Hopkins_Alison) September 26, 2016
@NW10KTRA Pleasing Wembley Village (!) developers all that matters to Butt. Bet they’re paying. LDO seems to rule. ?
— Alison Hopkins (@Hopkins_Alison) September 26, 2016
Or is this a savvy move by Brent Council that has rescued the event and saves money
@Hopkins_Alison @flace1 @Riksmithuk @NW10KTRA @RiseGuide @KensalRiseRA I Don’t think it’s a bad thing if it saves taxpayers’ money

Although rain has been forecasted, that won’t be enough to extinguish the free fireworks display starting approximately 6:30pm at Arena Square which is in front of Wembley Arena.
