Asda Black Friday Wembley 2015 cancelled

The supermarket has declared that there will be no Black Friday at Asda Wembley on 27 November.

The Walmart owned retailer has made a u-turn on Black Friday following last years apocalyptic scenes of people engaging in fisticuffs over cut-price consumer goods.

Asda were an early adopter of Black Friday in the UK; an American import involving flash sales at the start of the festive holiday season.

Why is Black Friday at Asda Wembley canceled?

Asda chief executive, Andy Clarke, said “The decision to step away from Black Friday is not about the event itself”.

Asda has taken some key learnings away from its involvement in Black Friday: “this year customers have told us loud and clear that they don’t want to be held hostage to a day or two of sales.”, reported the BBC.

Wembley Asda made front page news when SHAMEFUL footage emerged of shoppers going berserk over cut-price TV’s during Black Friday.
