England could lose Wembley Stadium to NFL.
As the Football Association continues to focus on growth at the national stadium an NFL team at Wembley could be a reality by 2021.
NFL is performing well in London, resulting in 3 international series played at Wembley this year and the likelihood of even more next year.
The first of the international series saw Oakland Raiders v Miami Dolphins play to a sold-out Wembley with 83,436 fans in attendance.
England’s recent game against Norway met some criticism due to a half-filled stadium attracting 40,181 fans.
If the FA jumps into bed with the NFL the result could see the rebirth of England touring nationally again.
Whilst the £750 million new Wembley was being constructed, England toured around the UK playing at various other stadiums.
Financing the stadium’s cost is still in process so England’s games are locked in to Wembley until at least 8 years.
After that, anything’s possible, with NFL possibly getting a home in London and visa-versa team England might start touring in the US?
