Is anyone with sky??

Hi is anyone here at quadrant court with sky? I’m having a lot of issues with velocity 1 at the moment and would like to know how going through sky works here at quadrant court…
Can we set up directly through sky or do we have the misfortune to have to set up sky through Velocity 1?

Thanks

  • I’ve been with SKY for a few weeks now. You pay SKY directly and they come and set everything up. The only thing that Velocity have to do is fit a additonal box into the flat so you can recieve the SKY service, this will cost you £120.
You also have to pay Velocity £5 per month for the use of this box (unless you are still a customer with them)

  • Thanks for your reply. Do u just have the tv with sky or do u have telephone and Internet too? Really can’t be bothered with the awful service I’m receiving from V1 and would absolutely love to not have to give them any money… £5 is too much for the aggravating service they provide! Thanks again

    • I got the TV/Broadband/Phone package. Be warned though. I just found out that the Sky Router and my landline phone has to be installed in the cupboard by the door where the fusebox is. The issue is that there is no power socket there and therefore I have to power the router and phone by running a cable across the hallway to the power socket on the other side.
The other sockets you have in the property for internet/phone are for fibre and for Velocity 1 services only.
So. if you don’t mind the mess, then go for it.

  • Thanks so much for your advine you have been a great help! Decided to stick with v1 for Internet an phone as Internet is fast, just getting sky tv installed. Thanks again!
