Shopping

As we are all aware, entering our court is equivalant to a mini work out. Those steep steps sure do tone up our thighs, but are quite intensive on our hands should we be labouring bags of food. Where I to utilise ‘home shopping’ such as the ones Asda and Tesco provide, will the poor bugger who has to deliever it also have to glamber up the same route or can the underground parking entrance be made available.

Appreciate your responces fellow resisidants.

  • Great post, this is only possible by reaching out to the building manager, unless you have a parking space of course. A possible idea is to agree with the building mgr a reoccurring day & time for such deliveries. The BM can then make the underground entrance accessible to food deliveries on the agreed time each week. The only caveat is that residents will need to order their food online for that particular day each week, or miss the boat.

  • Oli’miester if your reading this – please take note. I think we are onto a winner here, it would be good PR for you too, you’ll be helping families get fed, tired legs get some rest and putting a smile on peoples faces, and that my friend – is pricesless.

I suggest we put a note of this up on those nice shiney new blue noticeboards weve got. Ones that someone has hijacked and put up a picture of some grubby old victorian style chairs for sale. Common – if you dont want it, why would we. Skip’em luv.

Note would read something like this:

    HOME DELIVERY QUADRANT COURT

As part of our initive to make your lifes easier, I Oly aka building manager would like to extend to you a proposal to take advantage of a weekly slot to allow home delivery of TESCO or ASDA vans to bring food to your door. Provided you arrange del in the below slot, I will make the underground available so food can be brought up to you via the lifts.

    For example : Mon – 6.00

Ps: Miss the slot and you will have to carry the food via the normal route. Please be mindful of this.

    Regards
    Oly

  • Good idea!! We have 2 kids and have to park on Manor Park Drive some times further. As we aren’t rich enough to own a parking space in the near empty carpark. We have to lug shopping and kids accross the busy road, leave kids and shopping in the foyer or in the flat unattended, run like a mad back to the car, navigate accross the road in a panic because we have left the children unattended. By the time we get in we are cream crackered.

When i have to do this by myself its a nightmare!! A guy from car park or the building sight or Brent (not sure) has also threatend to report me and my husband for parking on the double yellows by Tescos while we unload the kids and shopping.

According to him ” his company own the road” I have tried to articulate that there isn’t parking close enough. He told me “put your car on the meter” errr I still have to lug the shopping and kids around the roundabout and across the roas stupid!!

Can we have an unloading bay/space? Parking permits? Something! Anything!PLEASE!!!!!
